Historic heritage building undergoing restoration with scaffolding

Historic Restoration

Overview

Hi-Rise Scaffolding restores and installs windows on historic and heritage buildings across Winnipeg and Manitoba. A building from another era wasn't built to modern standard dimensions, and treating it like one leaves the finished work looking wrong even when it's technically sound. We match sightlines, trim profiles, and material to the building's original design, so the finished window belongs on the building instead of standing out from it.

Examples include

Where we apply it.

01Historic window installation, fit and trim matched to the original design
02Restoration to original character, not a strip and replace job
03Heritage building envelope work planned around the building's age
04Sightlines and profiles matched to what's already there
05Access built to protect original facade details during the work
06Planned around the building's materials and construction method

Heritage window work fails most often when it's treated like a standard replacement job, new stock sizes forced into an old opening, trim profiles that don't match, sightlines that read wrong from the street. We measure and plan around what's actually there before ordering or building anything, and where the scaffolding or swing stage access itself has to work around original facade details, we plan that in too. It's slower than a standard install, and it's the only way the result actually looks like it belongs on the building.
